Q:Wow. Europe is out of control. Any advice on a nice affordable vacation - relaxing, but also sites to see and some nightlife – perhaps alone?

A:I feel that Mexico is still affordable as is Belize. The influx of tourists is both good and bad. One on hand, where one country is super friendly, the other does harbour some resent towards the foreigners. (Can you blame them?) That said, both have advanced tourism trades therefore it's easy for you to fly through say Miami, land in Belize City, explore Belize, then make your way up the Yucatan Peninsula into Mexico to Chichen Itza, explore the Mayan ruins, then even have time to check out Guatemala - and all within a week's time. It's also something you can do by oneself and not feel lonely. Send me a postcard!
