On the California or Australian shores, it might be easy to find your fellow wave lovers. In New York a bit harder. This surf shop which gets in such hard-to-find items as the Hurley by Pendleton limited editions is a tribute to all things wave-related. There are the clothes, the waxes, the boards but also the coffee bar up front makes it the sort of place where a community gathers. Whether to check out an exhibition of photographs by Ito, the result of Casio G'zOne's trip to Maine to visit to the workshop of Grain Surfboards and test out their Rock and Brigade phones, or surf-tribute custom skateboard decks designed by Steve Olson and Harry Jumonji, it's a welcoming crew here, who gather to talk about everything from art to film and, yes, waves, while stocking up the gear.
