Duncan Quinn
70 Kenmare Street
212 226 7030

The dapper barrister- turned- bespoke tailour Duncan Quinn is responsible for making Nigel Barker and Colin Farrell look so irresistible. Whilst critics who've compared Quinn to other tailours in the neighbourhood might say that the cutting is not so different, we think it's the intimate feel of this shop, along with the personal attention, combined with a selection of uniquely English patterns and colours, topped off with a thorough understanding of what makes a particularly English look so refined, that sets Quinn apart from the rest. Yes, it will cost you. Because bespoke is made from scratch; it is not the same thing as having an off the rack suit adjusted to fit, and hopefully you don't need us to tell you how much better bespoke will, well, suit. Nor why we think it's worth every penny. Singlehandedly on a mission to improve the way American men dress, we applaud his efforts. And that makes this our recommendation for your first and last bespoke suit (and naturally all the ones in- between.)
