For those who wish it was Oktoberfest year around comes Paulaner. Serving up the standards such as soft pretzels, smoked trout, potato pancakes, German potato salad, cucumber salad with dill, and beer battered fish, this spot hits all the German specialties and favourites. Perhaps the best part about this beer hall / restaurant is it's size; capable of being a microbrewery catering to the Happy Hour crowd (they make their own house-made German beer and offer brewery tours of the facilities), they're also able to accommodate large parties of Wall Street bankers celebrating. This spot has no trouble fitting 30 people at a long table. Considering there's beer by the litre, it comes as no surprise that the crowd can get a bit rowdy. If you don't mind a little bit of spilled microbrew and the very Bavarian-inspired menu appeals to you, you're going to love the spot. Oddly its only drawback is sometimes it's only open till 11 p.m. at night.
