The extremely short lived Earth NYC just didn't have the owner- power to bring them in. Perhaps Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss do, what with the rebirth of the space as Avenue. With parties for Erin Wasson x RVCA, US Weekly's 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers and our favourite, the MCM party for Korean pop star Rain (he's the Timberlake of Korea, kids), this spot might save this little block yet. Sure there's still The Park next door (wow, still), but folks need a place to go after a big meal at Del Posto and this is it. At least for those who don't want the oh- so- young crowd of Tenjune, and the oh- so- Euro crowd of Buddha Bar. Despite many articles about the tough door, we found it super- friendly and while we've listed it under clubs, because well it's just more entertaining than a bar; the library- esque decor (swirly carpet, tribute to monarchs in gold-leaf frames, amber lighting) and long shape lend to this place, an elegance that some of the bigger spots just don't have.....even with the celebrity antics this spot attracts! See you here during fashion week (yes, the next one) we're sure; unless of course you're a starlet banned from Avenue... Perhaps she really is just working on her next collection.... p.s. we've had the nibbles, such as sliders in cute little bento boxes, and they were good.
