Southside (which was Bella's aka home to Gossip Girl wannabes) is reborn as a super fun nightclub hangout below Bar Martignetti that is somewhere between Annabel's and your fave high school basement. Palm tree wallpaper and black bamboo wainscotting mixes with a checkerboard floor, disco balls and black patent booths in a decor which co-owners James Willis and Anthony Martignetti describe quite succinctly as "British colonial glam". Attracting a more downtown crowd, both older and more fashiony than their previous clientele, music producers and chopper store owners can be seen mixing with clothing designers over Fleetwood Mac, the Buggles, the Kills, Smashing Pumpkins, Simon & Garfunkel and, like we said, other basement faves. Both friends of Bills will feel at home with their nick sticks as well as swells who like to swill Bolly. Congrats to surf aficionado and ex Diesel exec Willis and Martignetti for making going out dancing fun once again.
