New York is becoming more like Amsterdam and Miami every day. Sabina Belkin’s new club Duvet (in the old Centro Fly space ) proselytizes never getting out of bed. For food. For partying. For fun. To be brutally honest, if it were anyone but chef David Coleman who worked at Union Pacific, eating where others may have been , um, playing, would so totally gross us out we wouldn’t have even bothered to stop by. The verdict? Great and crazy. The good news is that the sheets are changed after every meal so all the crumbs from your lobster and lamb and splashes of gin are swept away instantly. The bad news is that sitting delicately is absolutely impossible so wear really stretchy pants, get a super pedicure (guys too please – wash those mootsies) and ride out the trend.
