Philip Dumont's French sensation Nickel, a guys-only spa comes to New York. Making skin care for men not the least bit girly is the goal of this enormous 4,500 square feet space complete with eight treatment rooms, a napping room, a vast reception area and a manicure and pedicure treatment area. Visitors go through the Zen Promenade - a stone walkway modeled after the ancient Japanese ritual of walking on rocks, which is said to stimulate circulation and soothe muscles through natural reflexology. A water bar with international waters including a Corsican water and the Decompression Chamber with its cobalt lighting completes the initial relaxation. Dumont, who says that most men need to learn how to care for their skin, is a veteran. He's consulted on skin care to Chanel and Christian Dior before opening the centers in Paris, whose clientele includes Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Issey Miyake, and John Malkovich. Now the men amidst us have no excuse for not looking good.
