Not a hotel at all, owner Benjamin Shih named this bar for the 1940s French underground which often named refuge stops by hotel names - they would house those in the resistance with a good meal and nice wine before sending them on their way - and this hospitality combined with a "only those who know know" location is what he's serving up. This spacious bar just over the bridge (his two previous spots are in Brooklyn) and right below Delancey serves up a whole menu of fun cocktails but we loved best two champagne mixes; The Dakota, a champagne cocktail made with white peaches and the Kir Yvette, champagne with violets and lemon. Also delicious are the house signature, The Bramble, a blackberry sour, and the Saki Stinger on ice. For those who love the classics, there are G & Ts, daiquiris, an old-fashioned with honey and of course a Gibson and a Gimlet. All with cute mini stories after each. The intention will be for this spot to be a classic French restaurant upstairs and a dance club downstairs.
