Now that even Sony and Universal have karaoke record deals, it was just a matter of time before a really good set of club owners did the shtick full time. Filled with the young and off-key, Encore is a rock themed “karaoke palace” and Alan Philips, Josh Shames and Derek Feinman’s new creation. It’s full on 80s here with the neon red signs proclaiming that it’s “Paradise City” but the youngins seeking “Satisfaction” weren’t much more than zygotes when it was recorded the first time around. A crazy good time of a bar, made especially good by the whipped cream Godiva liquor shots called the “Birthday Sundae”. Ah, to celebrate becoming legal...
