Naga 2 Abingdon Road W8 6AF +44 207 795 6060 This little spot off High Street Kensington is a split level restaurant which makes beautiful use of space. Both the main sunken level and the dramatic mezzanine benefit from a stunning all-glass retractable greenhouse roof which lends sunlight and an outdoor feeling year round to this dining room. A mixed menu of delicate Chinese and Vietnamese dishes includes such offerings as a duck watermelon salad, the classic Pho, silken tofu bites, miso cod in a banana leaf and a lovely healthy spinach with Goji berries in a chicken broth. Fresh versions of the classics, such as Szechuan duck, lemongrass and chili pork, and black pepper stir fried beef, are all elevated to a level any Chinese person would be proud to claim home-made. A front room with a tiny seating area is unassuming but manned by an ex-Mahiki bartender leading to a real worthwhile cocktail experience. Delightful in every way and at lunch, still a hidden gem and value. Make it your regular. |
