Chris and Jeff Galvin (The Wolseley and Orrery; and L’Escargot respectively) have opened Galvin, a French bistro on Baker Street in the former site of Anda (one of Alan Yau’s only failures). Gone is the minimalist décor, and in comes Design LSM’s long, lean dark wood and dark leather banqueted space. Dishes are tasty with the standouts being the crab lasagna and the escargots Bourgignonne. Service ironically enough is just like The Wolseley where water and a menu are hard to come by. If you can live with the healthy serving of attitude, you’ll love the prices which are super reasonable.
